Tarlac State University and DOST Region III entered a partnership to provide food safety consultancy to seven (7) micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Luzon on Wednesday (September 16) at the Office of the University President.

University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza and DOST Tarlac Provincial Director Ms. Karen Y. Dañez, who also serves as focal person of the Central Luzon Food Safety Team, represented their respective institutions during the signing.

Through the Center for Food Technology and Research (CFTR), technical assessments and recommendations will be provided to partner MSMEs to diagnose specific food safety concerns to serve as basis for provision of consultancy services.

DOST Region III campaigns to assist food manufacturers through its Food Safety program, while TSU has been the partner implementing university for ten years.

Moreover, TSU received a Certificate of Appreciation for providing the venue and facilities for the PhiSCLaban Sci-Math Battle Provincial Round. The recognition was received by President Mendoza.

The PhiSCLaban Sci-Math Battle is an academic quiz bee for public and private elementary schools in Central Luzon that aims to promote critical thinking in Science and Mathematics. The event was held last August 15, 2026, at the TSU Ampitheater, Lucinda Campus.
